HH Weekly Message: January 27, 2025
Happy Saturday Hartman Family! Getting my letter out early this weekend!
This past week, our staff decided to do an "underground" spirit week to see if students would notice. We had dress up days for staff that included “anything but a cup day”, “blackout day”, “formal day”, and “tacky tourist day”! It was a super fun week watching students try to figure out what was going on. Check out some of the pics below.

Also, I had a chance to check out the 5th grade Ravens basketball team on Saturday, and our very own Reggie Sanchez is a part of it. They kicked Summit’s butt! Check out Reggie in actions below!

Last Friday we had a great family event…Lego Night! Awesome turn out of families, lots of fun eating pizza and building Legos. Raffled off some great prizes and kids made some very creative and unique Lego structures. Take a look at the pics and video below! A big thank you to the PTC for hosting this event! We appreciate you!

A few things to consider this week and looking ahead…
1st Semester
The 1st semester is coming to a close at the end of this week. Teachers will be sending home report cards which will contain good information about your child’s progress this year. I encourage you to review it thoroughly and ask questions if you have any. A reminder to you all that this mid-year report may contain 1s and 2s in certain areas, or even NAs due to the fact that specific content may not have been covered yet and students are still working toward meeting standards in various areas. It’s important you keep in good contact with your child’s teacher to truly understand where they are at and how they are progressing through the school year.
Friday Reminder
No school this Friday due to a preparation day for our staff to work on and complete first semester report cards!
Attendance
General attendance has been really solid this year across the board. We appreciate you as parents prioritizing getting your kids here each and every day. As a parent myself, there are many challenges that can make it difficult for us to get our kids to school. If for any reason you are struggling with this, please reach out to us as we are always willing to find a way to help make it happen!
Character Strong Theme
This month’s Character Strong theme is PERSEVERANCE. Any opportunity to discuss how perseverance takes place in your lives with your kids would be great. Attached is a flyer with some ideas on how to do this. We will be engaged in all manner of activities focused on this theme over the course of the month, helping kids understand how perseverance can affect their academic and social experiences.
